Redirecting Their Potential
The "Be Anything Program" is under consideration of several states Department of Juvenile Justice Systems and we expect our program to be chosen for use beginning next year.
This program makes an excellent exit plan. By teaching this curriculum to students that have been separated from the community through commission of crimes or behavioral problems you will be showing them the importance of awareness of choice and using that choice to create a successful and abundant life.
We cannot hope to just board our at risk youth for periods of time and then release them to the same environment and pressures that brought them to this point and expect them to make different choices. We must give them coping skills and tools to use that will help them make different and more informed choices for their lives
At this stage of brain maturation on teens, they do not have the ability to put the brakes on risk taking or emotionally inappropriate behavior without being given specific options to their reactions. We must teach them the difference between reacting and responding and show them how to form plans that will help them respond in appropriate and controlled ways.
Many times teens do not even recognize they are making a choice when that choice happens. Not having the life experience or capacity to develop these concepts on their own, this program will teach them to be aware that the choices they make today can and will impact their future lives.
First offenders or at risk students still in the community will benefit from this program to help them change their direction and move their lives in a more productive and satisfying way.
This program is excellent for use by law enforcement officials as a probationary assignment. Juvenile Justice Systems will find great benefit in adding this program to the curriculum of detained students as an exit plan. Drug rehab centers may use it as a life skills, coping skills and life mapping program to help clients develop an on going guide for continuing their sobriety.
